Transportation & Parking Services at The Ohio State University is a self-supporting entity, relying solely on user fees for all construction, maintenance, and operation of parking facilities and Campus Area Bus Service (CABS).
Vehicles parked on The Ohio State University Columbus Campus must purchase and display a parking permit annually, unless the vehicle is parked in a pay facility (i.e., garage or metered parking space) or has a temporary parking permit.
Parking permits are considered University Property. Transportation & Parking Services reserves the right to revoke the permit and parking privileges for misuse of the permit.
STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF PERMITS
Every effort is made to provide a permit that will meet your needs. We offer Central Campus parking and lower cost remote parking alternatives.
Central Campus parking permits are limited by classification or class rank. These permits allow parking within the academic core of campus. Parking on campus is assigned to correspond to permit types using an “A,” “B,” or “C” designation.
An alternative for commuters is the West Campus remote parking lots. West Campus permits are the lowest cost option for parking on campus. 24-hour bus service to Central Campus is provided during the Fall, Winter & Spring academic quarters. West Campus parking is designated as “WA,” “WB,” and “WC.”
An option for customers who park at the Ackerman Road Complex or who work in the Medical Center is to purchase “CX” or “CXC” parking permits. The Med. Center Express shuttle service provides year-round transportation from the Buckeye Lot to the Medical Center area.

Rules are relaxed during the evenings and weekends for most parking on campus. During this time, lower cost parking permits can move to closer unrestricted spaces on campus. Please note that there are some spaces that do have restrictions on them and are reserved during this time. For more information, please visit the Parking Restrictions.
If you have any questions related to the area in which you may park, the type of permit best suited to your needs, or the shuttle services provided from remote parking lots, contact us at 614-292-9341, e-mail: tpinfo@osu.edu or visit our web site.
