Construction
Significantly Impacts Campus Traffic and Parking Beginning
6/15/09
The occurrence of road closures/detours and
the loss of surface parking spaces during summer construction
will impact daily travel and may create a “ripple effect”
in other areas of campus as customer use alternate roadways
or relocate to new parking areas. During this time, motorists
should anticipate parking shortages and traffic delays and
are encouraged to plan accordingly to reduce frustration.
While a complete list of known projects and map of each location
can be found here,
we’d like to call your attention to a few projects that
may result in significant traffic delays:
- State Route 315 Construction,
beginning June 15, is expected to generate heavy traffic
along Kenny Road; Olentangy River Road; High Street as
well as Lane Avenue and possibly Woody Hayes Drive. More
information on this project can be found on the Ohio
Department of Transportation’s Website .
- Tuttle Park Place between Woody Hayes
and Neil Avenue will close for campus Utilities Expansion
and Road Improvements Projects on 6/15/09. Please
note that Tuttle Park Place, between Woody Hayes and the
RPAC loop will remain open during this time. Additionally,
access to the northeast Stadium parking lots will be maintained.
This phase is a continuation of the work that has been
on going along Woodruff for the past several months.
- Fyffe Road between Lane and Woody Hayes
will be impacted for approximately one week (weather permitting)
for a resurfacing project, beginning June 15, 2009. Traffic
will be maintained, but lanes will be restricted.
- Fyffe Court, south of Woody Hayes will
be closed to traffic beginning at 6pm Monday, June 15.
This closure will last for approximately 3 days.
- Cannon Drive and 12th Avenue - Utility
projects in the Medical Center area of campus will result
in lane restrictions along Cannon and 12th Avenue throughout
the summer.
- College Road will be impacted by a
utility and repaving project this summer, resulting in
lane restrictions.
If you have a disability and construction temporarily interrupts
your access, please contact L. Scott Lissner via e-mail at

Alternative Travel Options
Warm weather and congested roads might offer the opportunity
to try new travel modes to and from campus as follows.
